MoLAS have their first blogger!

9 November 2007

Angela Wardle (our Roman glass specialist) will blog and post photos about her ongoing analysis of the Roman glass from 35 Basinghall Street, City of London.

This is a new venture for us and we hope this will generate public interest in the glass and more generally in archaeological processes as well as reaching a new audience.

The site has produced important new evidence of the Roman glass-working industry in London, with very large quantities (over 70kg or 10,000 fragments) of glass production waste.

Angela will blog as during the programme of glass analysis which will last about a year (off and on) with the book being published hopefully by the end of 2009.

Angela will be working with John Shepherd and also Ian Freestone of Cardiff University who will be carrying out a programme of scientific analysis.

The blog was expertly set up by Mia Ridge (MoL Database Developer).
