  • Onsite and/or offsite recording of waterlogged structural woodwork from prehistoric to modern date, including sampling for dendrochronological dating and wood identification
  • Advice on all aspects of ancient and traditional woodworking
  • Expert identification and interpretation of:
  • all types of timber structures, e.g. walls, wattlework, well linings, bridges, barrels, woodworking debris
  • standing carpentry in timber or masonry buildings
  • structural woodwork
  • vernacular boats and historic vessels
  • High-quality replicas of ancient or historic objects and structures in wood
  • Preparation of draft publication drawings, reconstructions and axonometric drawings
  • Practical training in the recording and analysis of ancient woodwork and traditional craft woodwork
