Awards for the Presentation of Heritage Research

29 January 2010

MOLA’s Julian Bowsher and Pat Miller have been short-listed in the Awards for the Presentation of Heritage Research 2010, for The Rose and the Globe – playhouses of Shakespeare's Bankside, Southwark: excavations 1988–91, a MOLA monograph.

The awards are being run this year as part of the Archaeology 2010 conference (external link). Together with the other finalists, Julian will present to the judges at the British Museum on 26 February 2010. The winner will be announced that evening, and invited to give their presentation during the conference's Archaeology Awards session on Sunday 28 February.

The purpose of the awards is to encourage researchers to present their work on British and Irish archaeology, historic buildings, and heritage conservation, much of which is fascinating but often little-known, to a wider public. The awards are sponsored by the Royal Archaeological Institute, English Heritage, Cadw, Historic Scotland, the Environment and Heritage Service (an agency within DOE(NI), and the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (Republic of Ireland).
