Post-excavation work
Our dedicated post-excavation project management team is responsible for the progress of projects from assessment through to analysis and publication (recognised stages in English Heritage's ' Management of archaeological projects, 1991').
More than 80 projects are currently underway, involving specialists in stratigraphic data, graphics, environmental work and many other areas. We also have direct access to world-class experts on a range of different finds and materials - from tiles to timber and from glass to grass.
Our particular focus is ensuring that all the archaeological investigations we carry out, whether large or small, urban, greenfield or coastal, result in an appropriate level of publication and archiving (e.g. Heart of the City and the Jubilee Line Extension/Roman Southwark).
We have our own in-house photography, graphics and publication teams, who produce our completed monographs, client reports and promotional and educational material, and who are also available for external commision. These teams maintain the highest academic and production standards, as shown in the successful MoLAS Monograph series.
We are also continually improving our post-excavation techniques and capabilities in areas such as database management and Geographical Information Systems (GIS) development (see Geomatics).
