Recent conservation work has included the investigation and recording of the remains of the lyre and the sword from the burial by CT scanning, to examine their X-ray images in three dimensions.

Painstaking work to examine the soil in which the objects were lifted has also revealed contents of vessels, mineralized textile and wood remains.
