Getting involved
Want to get involved with archaeology?
The Museum of London runs several events throughout the year, with an archaeological theme. See below for upcoming events.
Community excavation
Each year we organise a summer community dig where members of the public can join in with the excavating and finds washing and find out more about their local history. For more information about previous years digs and the next dig to take place go to ‘Community excavations’.
Finds days
Throughout the year we travel round London doing local Finds Days. During these events you can handle local finds, take part in finds related activities and get your own finds identified through the Portable Antiquities Scheme.
Open days
12 - 20 July 2008 - National Archaeology Week

8 November 2008 - Archaeology and the Museum
In the autumn, LAARC is bringing it's archaeology and activities to the Museum of London for a fun packed day, showing how archaeology has taught us much about London's history
School visits
Schools can come in to visit us in the Archive or we can go into the class room and show the class artefacts and talk about archaeology and what it is like to be an archaeologist.
