In April 2008 the project team put together a draft research review for discussion during the consultation and at the public seminars held at the LAARC in June of that year. The draft review summarised important initiatives and findings since the year 2000, outlined current issues and suggested priorities for the coming five years. We received many constructive comments and suggestions in reaction to the draft review over the remainder of 2008 and carried out a basic update of the draft based on the comments received. Further updates are required to ensure that the review and a shorter summary of it embedded in the published research strategy guidance document complement each other.

The final updated version of the research review will be posted on the project website as a supporting document for the published research strategy.
