As Managing Director of Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA), Taryn Nixon is in overall charge of direction, policy and practice for MOLA and the trading subsidiary MetroMOLA Ltd, in all our work across the UK and internationally.
Taryn has 30 years’ commercial archaeological experience, in historic environment consultancy, archaeological project management and field practice in the UK, France and Asia. She played leading roles in the development of the ICE contract for archaeological projects, in the creation of the industry Standard for archaeological excavation and in writing the CIRIA guide on managing archaeological risk in property development.
Passionate about making the role heritage can play in helping developers in celebrating identity and place-making, she has served on CABE’s Design Review Panel, and currently serves on English Heritage’s London Advisory Committee. Taryn is a former chair of the Institute for Archaeologists.
