Sophie Jackson is part of the Senior Management Group of MOLA. As such, she is one of seven people responsible for the overall direction and success of MOLA, and leads a team of contract managers. As a Senior Consultant, she has primary responsibility for overseeing all of MOLA’s tenders and contracts and Quality Compliance.
Sophie’s specific responsibilities include developing MOLA’s historic building work and consultancy, leading MOLA’s City of London project management team and promoting archaeology through presentations to the public and clients. Sophie has been active in professional archaeology for 20 years in the UK and overseas.
Sophie has extensive field archaeological experience ranging from projects in Britain (for English Heritage, Trust for Wessex Archaeology, Essex County Council, British Museum, Norfolk Archaeological Unit) to Italy, Malta and Israel. As a project manager, Sophie has completed over one hundred successful projects including recording work at landmark buildings (St Paul’s Cathedral, City churches and buildings in the Temple) and nationally important archaeological sites in the City of London (the fort, forum, City defences and medieval London waterfront).
