The MOLA Assessment Team is one of the largest and foremost heritage consultancies in the UK, specialising in preliminary (pre-planning application) risk assessments, heritage assessment to support planning applications (historic environment assessments/heritage statements), environmental statements, and other heritage studies. The team carries out around 200 projects throughout the UK every year, ranging from small-scale developments to major infrastructure projects. As Head of Historic Environment Assessment, Jon is responsible for the day-to-day management of the team, technical editing and quality assurance, programming, preparation of tenders, training and strategic development.

Jon has 15 years’ experience exclusively in heritage management. He has a broad experience base, having worked on projects across the UK, including major infrastructure projects such as the Thames Tideway Tunnel for Thames Water, Crossrail, airport development for BAA, Olympics development for the London Development Agency, the London Gateway Port for P&O/Shell, the Gloucester Urban Regeneration Project, and numerous major road, rail, tram, pipeline, cable route and windfarm projects. He has project managed major English Heritage projects, including archaeological assessments of aggregate areas in various counties in England, and the assessment of hulked vessel assemblages in England. He has produced legal documents to support public enquiries, and contributed to archaeological planning policy guidance for the Jersey Island Planning Authority.
